Janelle was a vampire and sister to Nyx and Posie. She was a prisoner in Prison Camp.
Biography[]
Janelle was the middle sister, with Nyx as the oldest and Posie as the youngest. She was the granddaughter of Diedrich. Her parents are deceased. She was accused of murdering a male vampire.[1] Her sentence was 250 years and the sentence began on June 2nd, 1967.[1] Nyx finds her name on the Wall.[2]
As The Command, she worked hard to gain authority in the prison. She developed allegiances and bribed guards to eventually be the one in charge of the prison. After Nyx finds out that Janelle is alive and The Command, Janelle confesses to killing the vampire male. Janelle said he killed him because she was tired of him telling her what to do and that she wanted to know what it was like to murder someone.[3][4]
She enjoys The Jackals hatred of her and forces The Jackal to have sex with her. During this time, Peter is conceived and born. He was only taken out during mealtimes and did see The Jackal occasionally.[5] She frees Peter from the prison and sends him in the direction of her family. The reasoning is unclear, according to Nyx it could be the final act of love as a mother, but there is reason to believe she only wanted him out of the way to hold over The Jackal's head, or so that he would give her his attention.
The Command becomes unhinged going as far as trying to kill Nyx when she finds out that The Jackal and Nyx are fated mates and have been together sexually.[6]
She has a pet creature that ends up killing her during the chaos and cave in of the prison.[7]
Personality[]
As Janelle, her personality is unknown, but that Nyx didn't believe she was a murderer.
As The Command, she is jealous[8][9], sadistic[10], full of hatred[10], cold[4], soulless[4], unhinged[6], and obsessed with The Jackal[9]. She is a murderer and a rapist.[11]
Physical Description[]
Smells like sandalwood[8], has red hair[12] with hazel eyes.[9]
Relationships[]
Nyx[]
Her relationship with Nyx was good prior to the prison. After Janelle discovers that The Jackal and Nyx are fated mates, she becomes unhinged and is willing to kill her sister.[6]
The Jackal[]
Prior to Janelle's takeover of the prison, The Jackal and Janelle are lovers. Once she takes over and becomes The Command, at some point, The Jackal breaks their relationship off. This seems to infuriate The Command as she becomes obsessed with The Jackal and forces him to have sex with her frequently[11]. During this time, their son, Peter, is conceived and born in prison.[11] The Jackal loves Peter regardless, but absolutely hates The Command.

Janelle let Peter go and while describing the events he is anxious and scared of Janelle.[13]
Diedrich[]
The relationship between Janelle and Diedrich pre-dates The Jackal, however, it is known that Diedrich is the one who turned Janelle into authorities for the murder of the vampire male.[14] He told Nyx that Janelle had no soul and he was terrified of her in that moment, he saw her true nature and knew she had committed the murder. [4]
